We have a room booked for a few days in Pulaski and I am already getting excited. I love going over there. Yeah, its busy and there are some questionable fishing ethics practiced by some, but there are huge, angry, fighting fish scattered all over the place. Tying flies for this trip is a lot of fun because the patterns are easy to tie and are quite a bit different from normal trout flies. Tick, Tock.
This is the Salmon River Gift. My friend Tim came upon this fly on a trip over to Pulaski and I found the pattern on Utube. I used materials I found at a craft store.
This is a great article decribing the Sucker Spawn and why and when it can be effective. Below that is a great instructional video for the pattern.
I have a few more patterns to complete before the trip. I will post them as they are completed.
Keep you updated on river conditions and my exploits.
