I really enjoy tying flies that have a story behind them and this is a good one. I found this pattern at Up Country Outfitters http://www.farmingtonriver.com/. My fishin buddy Ross and I went there one spring before season here in VT and I bought this. Its really just a green variation of a Prince. Ross is pretty stubborn and thought the purchase a bit foolish. I managed to outfish my friend handily using this fly. He had purchased a new camera that took pics under water and was nice enough to take some pics of the fish being released under water. Years later I went to Oregon to visit my friend and spey on the Deschutes and get fooled on the Metolius. Upon arrival at the airport we had to stop by his office and his lovely wife had painted him a very nice picture of a brown trout being released under water. Apparently she had found a picture of a brown on his camera and painted him a picture of the fish I had caught thinking it was his fish. The only thing missing in the painting was this fly in the corner of the fish's mouth.
Keep you updated on river conditions and my exploits.
